Mmmm. Guacamole.

I just made a big bowl of the g-stuff and that was the most fun I had all week. It has been C-R-A-Z-Y. It's the start of the academic year and since I'm pretty much the main point of contact, everyone knows my name. And not only that, they love screaming my name all the live-long day. I can expect another three weeks of this (plus a couple of Saturday catch up days) and it's going to be tuff. So I'm trying to get little bits of pleasure when I can. Like the guacamole. And watching trashy t.v. when Dave's not around, like "Paris Hilton's New BFF". And making beautiful cookies (seriously the best I've ever made). Because I'm prone to forget that life is made up of the little pleasures. When it's wall-to-wall hell I have to try even harder to remember that.

So, I'll be back soon. With stuff. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to eating my guacamole and sleeping in on Sundays.

  1. Wow, sounds like you're quite busy. What kind of work are you doing again? And is that a picture of YOUR guacamole? I've discovered in the past few years that some good guac can really kick a good bacon cheeseburger up a notch.

Exciting times back here. Health care debate and all. I'm not sure if the media is exaggerating Right Wing hostility to the reform plan (some sources suggest the extremists are getting disproportionate attention), but this debate has really gotten me feeling sorry for these people while they're manipulated by Fox news and Rush Limbaugh. It's incredible how quickly they've managed to conjure up the red scare and Hitler and other bogeymen to try and kill this thing. It's pretty sick, actually.

Anyway, I hope all's well in Scotland.

  2. I should not be reading this at this time of day. I love (love love) guacamole. Sometimes I eat it on it's own with a spoon. So good.

Once the madness is over (or during) do you fancy heading over to the Burgh for a Mexican feast?

I shall drop you an email. x

  4. C7, I work for a university and no, that wasn't my guac, though mine looked pretty great. I just couldn't be arsed to take a pic.

Stacy, I plan on posting recipes and pics of food I've made. I need to work on my presentation skills though and blogging about what I made should be the impetus that I need.
